Thank you folks.
It's so scary how something like this can sneak up. She's not shown any signs of anything other than slowing down on walks, which we'd put down to the advancing years.
She's come through the night well and there isn't any more fluid accumulation .gif ":)")

Trying to get my head in order. She has liver failure. No dependable diagnosis / treatment.
I can't face losing her.

So sorry 
when mine had kidney failure she did a while year happy before we had to let her go, we had a special diet as well as medication. No idea how successful that can be with the liver.
