A little advice for the buster boy please

As you know i have a miserable injured buster doggy at the moment this means, hes only allowed very short walks on the leads - hes used to 2 hours off lead exercise if not more.

Obviously I can't play with him as he yelps when he catches it so want to avoid causing stress to the injured area (one of the pads on his front paw). but hes not thick and boredom makes him miserable, so what can i do for him?

we've played with going under the coffee table, laying down, and generally 'calm' exercises that don't involve jumping, running around...

    anyone any ideas?
