5 on/5 off is by far my favourite exercise, used it to settle horses, wake horses up, wake riders up!

Ideally done on a 20m circle but I do it on hacks etc.

Very simple. 5 strides active walk, 5 strides working trot, 5 strides walk, 5 strides trot and so on. Can do trot to canter, or walk to canter if you're feeling brave!

Have found that some horses start to anticipate change so mix and match your strides if this happens!
