    Deaf Horse Folk

    How do deaf people cope?

New pony at the field. Lovely people loaning her. Chap is deaf and inexperienced around horses, which made me a little nervous as our four do like to bop around a bit and it's rather useful being able to hear them coming . Mine won't do anything purposefully to harm anyone, but the people just aren't horse aware. He was a lovely chap and very keen to learn more. I suggested that he not go in the field without someone else with him, just until he understands more about how the horses interact with themselves and with humans.

I think all you can do is advise and lead by example when you're all there at the same time. Maybe suggest a good trainer or local yard that can help teach about horse behaviour?
